Our Mission

Our mission is to empower women of all ages to optimize their health and wellness, without compromising their comfort or busy schedules. Education is key to understanding our bodies and how to heal them, yet the pelvic floor is often overlooked. At our clinic, we bridge that gap by educating you about your pelvic floor, its roles, what can go wrong, and how to treat and prevent dysfunction for long-term benefits. We recognize that discussing pelvic floor dysfunction can be sensitive and uncomfortable. We also understand that pregnancy and motherhood can be a challenging time to leave your house to your appointments. That’s why we offer virtual sessions that you can attend from the comfort and safety of your own home, without the hassle of commuting or taking time away from your little ones. Our virtual clinic makes our services accessible to all women across Ontario, no matter where they are located. Whether you live in a rural area or face bad weather, we’ve got you covered. Let us help you optimize your health and wellness today to get you back to feeling your best!

Meet Shaima

Shaima is a registered physiotherapist and clinic owner of PFH Physiotherapy. Shaima completed her Honours Bachelor’s of Science at the University of Toronto. She then went on to receive her Master’s of Physical Therapy at the University of Western Ontario. Since then, Shaima has completed extra training and certification in pelvic floor physiotherapy. Shaima is passionate about empowering women and educating them about their bodies. She believes that a huge part of recovery is our mental state. Her psychology background has allowed her to apply a biopsychosocial treatment approach for long term benefits and recovery. She believes in autonomy and ensuring her patients feel heard. With a main focus on perinatal care, Shaima treats a range of pelvic floor conditions. Her treatment style takes an active approach and includes a combination of education, home-exercise program, and self-management strategies for long term recovery.

Shaima felt a gap in her community where women believed having pelvic floor dysfunction is the norm and they should continue living with the pain. She also saw the difficulty for moms to make the time to see a pelvic floor physiotherapist with their busy schedules. Thus, PFH Physiotherapy was born, where women can be comfortable seeking help for their pelvic floor concerns, all from the comfort and safety of their own home.
