Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy

Pelvic floor physiotherapy can help you address any pelvic floor concerns, including pain in the pelvic floor area, sexual health, and bladder/bowel health. Treatment plans may include education, self-management techniques, and a personalized exercise program to get you back to feeling your best and meeting your unique goals. Learn more about conditions we treat in our FAQ section.

Prenatal Physiotherapy

Prenatal physiotherapy can help expectant mothers mentally and physically prepare their body and pelvic floor for an easier birth and reduce chances of vaginal tearing/pelvic floor dysfunction, while also addressing any pain or discomfort that may occur during pregnancy. This can include low back pain, pelvic girdle pain, tailbone pain, urinary incontinence/frequency/urgency, and more.

Postpartum Physiotherapy

The goal of postpartum physiotherapy is to help women regain strength and confidence after pregnancy back to doing what they love. This can also include addressing postpartum issues such as diastasis (separation of abdominal muscles), low back pain, pelvic girdle pain, urinary incontinence/frequency/urgency, tailbone pain, pain with intercourse, prolapse, and treating vaginal or caesarean scars.

Research shows that women who received virtual pelvic floor physiotherapy experienced improved quality of life, improved symptoms, and improved pelvic floor strength when compared to women who received in person physiotherapy treatments (da Mata et al., 2021).

What Our Clients Are Saying...
How Does Virtual Physiotherapy Work?
Initial Assessment

Your initial assessment will begin with a conversation with your physiotherapist to understand your medical history, current complaints, underlying factors, and goals. We will then move on to the objective part of the assessment, which can include things like looking at your mobility, posture, and strength. Finally, your physiotherapist will discuss how we can help you meet your goals by creating a personalized treatment plan.

Treatment

We use an evidence-based, holistic, client centered approach to design personalized treatment plans that align with your goals. Your treatment plan may include a combination of education, home exercise program, self-management strategies, and self-release techniques.

Your treatment plan will also include a plan for follow ups to assess your progress and make any changes or add new components to your treatment plan as you get further along your recovery!

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower women of all ages to optimize their health and wellness, without compromising their comfort or busy schedules. Education is key to understanding our bodies and how to heal them, yet the pelvic floor is often overlooked. At our clinic, we bridge that gap by educating you about your pelvic floor, its roles, what can go wrong, and how to treat and prevent dysfunction for long-term benefits. We recognize that discussing pelvic floor dysfunction can be sensitive and uncomfortable. We also understand that pregnancy and motherhood can be a challenging time to leave your house to your appointments. That’s why we offer virtual sessions that you can attend from the comfort and safety of your own home, without the hassle of commuting or taking time away from your little ones. Our virtual clinic makes our services accessible to all women across Ontario, no matter where they are located. Whether you live in a rural area or face bad weather, we’ve got you covered.
